Artistic hats and high tea

My art group got together on Sunday for a wonderful High Tea at Carol's house. We were each to decorate a hat and wear it. I took a wool hat that I found at a garage sale and added tulle and beads.
The flower is made out of soy silk fiber and held on with the beads.

Patty made her hat from scratch by shaping buckram around a bowl and adding lace. She looks like such a lady!

Wendy started with a hat from the dollar store and added the feathers, pom-poms and yo-yos. Talk about bright and colorful!

Maya bought this crown at a garage sale - turns out it was Wendy's garage sale and she had made the crown. They didn't know each other at the time....small world. Maya decorated it with playing cards and all kinds of fun things.

Jayne's hat also came from a garage sale but she cut out the back and added the birds, bees and butterflies. Everything wobbles when she moves.

Denise found the centerpiece for her hat at a yard sale and went wild adding the extras.

Carol decorated corks left over from her husband's wine makingdays. They are painted with glitter and shake all over the place.
A wonderful time was had by all.
